At the Forresters Arms we have some recommended walks for you to try while staying with us.

The walks cover a wide range of differing terrains but all of them are generally suitable for most people with something to suit everyone.

Starting off and finishing at the Forresters, you will get to see some beautiful scenery along the way, plenty of countryside and the all-important fresh air that Kilburn and surrounding areas has to offer, please see details below, why not give one a try…

Walk 1

Two Miles from The Forresters Arms, to High Kilburn and back…

A 1 hour walk through the villages of Low and High Kilburn, along country lanes and through fields. Mostly gentle strolling. One steep ascent that can be avoided by an alternative route.

Walk 2

Five Miles from The Forresters Arms, Kilburn to the chapel at Scotch Corner, Oldstead and back through High Kilburn

A  2 to 3 hour walk along country lanes, through fields and woodland with grand views, a long, steep climb to the eccentric chapel at Scotch Corner and back through the pretty villages of Oldstead and High Kilburn.

Walk 3

8 Miles from The Forresters Arms, Kilburn to Gormire, Sutton Bank, The White Horse and back

A 4 hour walk through fields and woodland to secluded Lake Gormire then up onto the Sutton Bank escarpment for wide open views of the Vale of York and a chance to get up close to the famous White Horse of Kilburn.
